Enugu Rangers Win Ninth NPFL Title Against Ikorodu City

Enugu Rangers claimed their ninth Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) title by defeating Ikorodu City, finishing the season with 68 points, one point ahead of second-placed Rivers United. The victory allowed Rangers to draw level with fellow giants Enyimba in NPFL history.

Captain Chidieber Nwobodo was instrumental, scoring the opening goal at the half-hour mark, followed by a second goal in the second half after reacting quickly to convert a rebound. Despite Ikorodu City pulling one back later in the game, Rangers held firm to secure the championship.

This title marks the first for Rangers since 2024. Ikorodu City’s defeat means they narrowly missed out on continental qualification for the second consecutive year.

Rivers United also secured a 3-0 victory over Katsina United, finishing second and qualifying for next season's CAF Champions League, while Shooting Stars SC claimed the final continental slot, qualifying for the CAF Confederation Cup.
