Tinubu Congratulates Rangers International on NPFL Title

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu congratulated Rangers International FC for clinching the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title for the ninth time, finishing the 2024-2025 season with a total of 68 points from 38 matches. In a statement released on Monday, Tinubu commended the Enugu-based club for their successful season and highlighted their historical legacy in Nigerian and African football.

He recalled Rangers' dominance during the 1970s and 1980s, including their FA Cup successes and their achievements on the continental stage, such as reaching the final of the 1975 African Cup of Champions Clubs and winning the 1977 African Cup Winners' Cup. Tinubu also acknowledged the support from Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah, emphasizing that the victory is a result of the administration's investment in youth sports development.

Furthermore, he praised Rivers United for their performance throughout the season and wished both teams success in the upcoming CAF Champions League.
