Enyimba announce major squad overhaul, release 22 players

Enyimba FC has announced a significant squad overhaul, releasing 22 players in an official statement. The club expressed gratitude for the departing players' service and dedication, wishing them success in their future careers.

Among those released are Imo Prince, Musa Usman, and Junior Lokosa. In addition to the permanent exits, three players have been sent on loan to gain playing time.

The decision comes after a disappointing season where Enyimba fell short of expectations, finishing outside continental qualification spots and ending the season without a trophy. The club, with a rich history of eight NPFL titles and two CAF Champions League trophies, is undergoing a major restructuring to prepare for the upcoming domestic and continental challenges.

The move marks one of the biggest overhauls in the club's recent history as they aim to rebuild and strengthen the squad for the new Nigeria Premier Football League season starting on August 22nd.
