Arsenal Targets PSG Defender Mbemba for Free Transfer

Arsenal FC has initiated a bid to sign 18-year-old defender Emmanuel Mbemba from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) on a free transfer. The club is understood to have made an approach as Mbemba's contract is set to expire at the end of June.

PSG is reportedly open to the move, with a compensation fee expected to be around £150,000. Mbemba, who has recently captained PSG's U19 side to success in the French Youth Cup, is viewed by Arsenal as a long-term option for the left-back position, although he primarily plays as a central defender.

Arsenal's current manager, Mikel Arteta, has outlined a development plan for the young player, similar to the progress made by William Saliba during his loan spell at Marseille. The club aims to secure a work permit for Mbemba to facilitate his move to England, with plans for him to join the first team by January 2027.
