Carragher Doubts United's Trophy Chances Under Carrick

Jamie Carragher, a Liverpool legend, stated that he does not believe Manchester United can win the Premier League or UEFA Champions League under current manager Michael Carrick. Speaking on talkSPORT, Carragher emphasized that while Carrick has achieved impressive results since his appointment, he lacks the managerial leadership necessary for the club to regain its former glory.

Carrick was appointed on a two-year contract with an option for a third year after taking over as interim manager in January 2026, following the dismissal of Ruben Amorim. Despite a poor start to the Premier League season, including a 2-0 defeat to Hull City, Manchester United managed a 5-2 victory against Ipswich Town but drew 2-2 with Everton, leaving them 11th in the league.

Carragher acknowledged Carrick's ability to bring calm to the team but expressed skepticism about his potential to elevate Manchester United to the next level.
