Carrick Dismisses Easy Start Claims for Man United

Michael Carrick, the head coach of Manchester United, has rejected suggestions that his team has an easy start to the Premier League season, calling such claims “pretty ridiculous.” Manchester United will begin their campaign away against Hull, the Championship play-off winners, on Saturday, followed by a home match against newly promoted Ipswich at Old Trafford on August 30. Despite perceptions that these fixtures could lead to a strong start, Carrick believes that playing against newly promoted teams, especially away from home, poses significant challenges.

He stated, “A newly promoted team away from home is a tough game,” reflecting on his past experiences. Carrick urged his players to take the opening fixture seriously, emphasizing the need to avoid complacency as they prepare for their first home league game against Ipswich.
