Chelsea Signs Maxence Lacroix from Crystal Palace

Chelsea has reached an agreement with Crystal Palace to sign defender Maxence Lacroix, aiming to strengthen their defense. The two Premier League clubs concluded negotiations, with personal terms anticipated to be unproblematic.

Lacroix, a 26-year-old France international, is scheduled to undergo a medical examination before finalizing his move to Stamford Bridge. He is expected to sign a long-term contract lasting until 2032.

Lacroix has had two impressive seasons at Crystal Palace, where he became known as one of the Premier League's most reliable defenders under coach Oliver Glasner, contributing to the club's UEFA Conference League title and strong domestic performances. He joined Palace from Bundesliga side Wolfsburg in August 2024.

His physical attributes, including his height of 6ft 4in, aerial ability, and tactical flexibility, were key factors in Chelsea's pursuit. The deal was negotiated at the ownership level between the two clubs, marking a significant addition to Chelsea's squad.
