Chelsea's Marc Cucurella Set to Leave Before Alonso's Arrival

Marc Cucurella, currently a player for Chelsea FC, is expected to depart Stamford Bridge before Xabi Alonso officially takes over as manager. Reports indicate that Barcelona intends to intensify negotiations regarding the acquisition of the left-back, who joined Chelsea from Brighton & Hove Albion in 2022 for a fee of £60 million.

The 27-year-old Cucurella, who developed through Espanyol's academy, is seen as a key player amid Chelsea's challenging season, where the team risks missing out on European competition entirely. Xabi Alonso, a 44-year-old former player, is set to assume the managerial role at Chelsea in July.

However, it is reported that Alonso may not have Cucurella in the locker room for the next season. Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have identified Cucurella as potential targets, with negotiations expected to progress in the coming week.
