Emery Frustrated by Elliott's Loan Struggles at Villa

Unai Emery, the manager of Aston Villa, admitted his frustration over Harvey Elliott's unsuccessful loan spell from Liverpool. Elliott, 23, struggled for game time at Villa Park, making just four Premier League appearances and accumulating only 109 minutes on the pitch.

The loan agreement reportedly included an obligation for Aston Villa to sign Elliott permanently for £35 million if he reached 10 league appearances, a condition that was not met due to his limited involvement. Emery described the situation as disappointing for all parties involved.

He noted that it was a difficult decision and that he had been in contact with Liverpool regarding the possibility of ending the loan early in January, but negotiations did not result in an agreement. Despite his struggles at the club level, Elliott enjoyed success with the England youth team, helping them win the Euro 2025 tournament and scoring five goals.

His future at Liverpool remains uncertain, and he is expected to attract interest from clubs in England and across Europe ahead of the summer transfer window.
