Ezri Konsa Joins Arsenal from Aston Villa for £51m

Ezri Konsa has completed a £51 million transfer from Aston Villa to Arsenal, signing a four-year contract with an option for a further year. The 28-year-old England defender is Arsenal's latest significant signing as they enhance their squad for the upcoming season.

The deal includes potential add-ons that could earn Aston Villa an additional £4 million. After the transfer, Konsa expressed his excitement, stating, “It’s a privilege to be here, and I can’t wait to get started,” emphasizing his desire to win.

He joined Aston Villa from Brentford in July 2019 and made 286 appearances, establishing himself as a consistent Premier League defender. Arsenal's sporting director, Andrea Berta, praised Konsa's athleticism and versatility, noting his ability to play both central defense and right-back.

This acquisition is expected to provide manager Mikel Arteta with greater flexibility in defensive options. Arsenal had also considered Bayer Leverkusen defender Jarrell Quansah before finalizing the agreement with Aston Villa for Konsa.
