Xabi Alonso Compares Chelsea's João Pedro to Benzema
Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso has drawn parallels between João Pedro and former Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema, highlighting Pedro's versatility and skill set. Alonso noted that Pedro is proficient both in and out of the box, adept at using his left side, and strong in aerial duels, describing him as "very complete and smart." Following the departures of Nicolas Jackson, Marc Guiu, and Liam Delap this summer, Pedro stands as the only senior striker in Chelsea's squad.
His recent performance earned him the Premier League Player of the Month award, making him the first Chelsea player to receive this accolade in nearly two years. Alonso's decision to rely on Pedro underscores the Brazilian's importance to the team's attacking strategy.
