Jurrien Timber Leaves Arsenal Camp for Injury Recovery

Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber has temporarily left the club’s pre-season training camp in Spain to continue his recovery from a groin injury. The Netherlands international returned to London for a scheduled rehabilitation phase, with club sources clarifying that this move does not indicate a setback in his recovery.

Timber is anticipated to return to Spain to rejoin Mikel Arteta’s squad once he completes the planned rehabilitation. The 24-year-old defender has been dealing with a groin issue that sidelined him after he had previously recovered from an ankle injury sustained towards the end of the last season.

Although he participated in Arsenal’s Champions League final loss to Paris Saint-Germain, the groin problem later prevented him from joining the Netherlands national team. Timber had a notable season last year, making 30 Premier League appearances as Arsenal won the league title and established himself as the first-choice right-back.

He joined Arsenal from Ajax in July 2023 for an initial fee of £34 million, having previously overcome a significant injury setback.
