Ndukwe Celebrates Flutterwave's 10th Anniversary Growth

Ernest Ndukwe, the board chairman of MTN Nigeria, celebrated Flutterwave's expansion into new continents during the fintech firm's 10th anniversary gala held in Lagos. Ndukwe reflected on Nigeria's digital evolution, tracing its roots back to the telecom reforms initiated in the early 2000s under former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

He noted that the dismantling of inefficient systems opened doors for private sector innovation, which has allowed companies like Flutterwave to thrive in today's digital economy. Ndukwe emphasized that Flutterwave's achievements demonstrate Nigeria's ability to meet global standards when supported by the right policy environment.

He cautioned that sustaining expansion depends on strong institutional discipline and corporate governance. Ndukwe acknowledged earlier pioneers of Nigeria's digital payment infrastructure, including John Obaro, founder of Systemspec and creator of the Remita platform.

He expressed confidence in Flutterwave's trajectory and its potential to deepen its footprint across Africa and beyond.
