EU Offers Traineeship for Young Nigerian Graduates

The European Union Delegation to Nigeria has launched a six-month traineeship program aimed at young Nigerian graduates interested in pursuing a career in diplomacy. The program is set to begin in July 2026, with a deadline for applications on May 8, 2026.

The traineeship will provide participants with practical insights into the workings of diplomatic missions and the EU's interests in Nigeria. Successful applicants will engage in various tasks, including drafting reports, monitoring political developments, and supporting public diplomacy events.

Eligible candidates must be Nigerian citizens residing in Abuja, hold at least a bachelor's degree, and have less than one year of professional experience. Candidates who graduated within six weeks prior to the application deadline are also eligible.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview, and successful trainees will receive a monthly stipend to cover living expenses, although they will be responsible for travel, visa, insurance, and accommodation costs.
