Pantami Vows to Challenge APC Consensus for Gombe Governorship

Isa Pantami, the former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, has publicly expressed his dissatisfaction with the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship consensus for the 2027 elections in Gombe State. In an interview with BBC Hausa, Pantami, who is an aspirant for the APC governorship ticket, described the consensus arrangement as an injustice.

He stated his intention to challenge this consensus in court, emphasizing that he is willing to risk everything, including his life, for this cause. The APC had recently endorsed a consensus candidate during a stakeholders' meeting, with Moham Ahmadu selected for Gombe Central Senatorial District, Inuwa Yahaya for Gombe South, and several others for various positions, including Usman Bello Kumo for Akko and Inuwa Garba for Yamaltu.

Pantami's commitment to contesting the consensus reflects his determination to secure the party's ticket through direct primaries.
