Pantami Wins Gombe PDP Governorship Ticket for 2027

Isa Ali Pantami, the former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, has emerged as the governorship candidate for the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Gombe State ahead of the 2027 elections. Pantami was selected during the party's primary election held on Tuesday in Gombe, where he was declared the sole aspirant by the PDP electoral panel chairman, Gregori Yenlong.

Following his selection, Pantami pledged to offer his services to the people of Gombe State and emphasized a commitment to equity and good governance. His candidacy comes after he withdrew from the APC governorship primary, citing alleged violations of the Electoral Act 2026 and irregularities in the party's electoral process.

Despite concerns raised by four PDP aspirants regarding his involvement after participating in the APC primary, Pantami's candidacy was welcomed by the PDP. He is expected to face Jamilu Gwamna from the APC in the upcoming elections.
