El-Rufai Granted N200M Bail in Corruption Case

On Tuesday, the Federal High Court in Kaduna granted former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai bail in the sum of N200 million concerning corruption charges filed against him by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC). The court stipulated that El-Rufai must provide two sureties who are at least on grade level 15 in the civil service.

Additionally, he is required to deposit his passport with the court and is prohibited from making public comments regarding the case. Until these conditions are met, he will remain in the custody of the ICPC.

This ruling comes amid ongoing political developments, including the African Democratic Congress convention in Abuja, which took place without the presence of the Independent National Electoral Commission officials.
