NCDC Offers N100,000 Weekly Stipend for Ebola Isolation

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC) has implemented an emergency payment of N100,000 per person weekly for individuals placed in isolation or quarantine following a confirmed Ebola case in the Federal Capital Territory. NCDC Director-General Dr Jide Idris announced that this financial support is intended to assist those in isolation with their feeding, accommodation, and other expenses while they are monitored.
In addition to the payment, the NCDC is actively monitoring 53 contacts linked to the confirmed Ebola case, which includes 44 individuals associated with the health facility where the patient received treatment. The agency has also begun tracing individuals who attended to the patient in an emergency room prior to the confirmation of the infection.
