NYSC Mandates NERD Clearance for Corps Members Mobilization

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has introduced a new requirement for prospective corps members, mandating that they present a compliance certificate from the Nigeria Education Repository and Databank (NERD) prior to their mobilization for national service. The NYSC Director-General stated that this policy is designed to strengthen institutional accountability, curb certificate fraud, and ensure that only qualified graduates participate in the NYSC scheme.

The agency has also called on tertiary institutions to inform and sensitize students about this new requirement ahead of the mobilization process. This initiative reflects the NYSC's commitment to maintaining the integrity of the national service program and ensuring that all participants meet the necessary qualifications.
