Ex-APC Aspirant Daniel Onjeh Backs Peter Obi

Daniel Onjeh, a former senatorial aspirant for Benue South under the All Progressives Congress (APC), has officially withdrawn his support for President Bola Tinubu and Governor Hyacinth Alia, declaring his allegiance to Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC). Onjeh made this announcement on Thursday, sharing a video of his meeting with NDC vice presidential candidate Rabiu Kwankwaso.

He described himself as “humbly Obidient,” indicating a significant shift from his previous support for Tinubu, whom he had previously defended as a decisive reformer. Onjeh's political realignment follows his withdrawal from the APC senatorial primary, which he cited as lacking transparency and being predetermined.

He had expressed concerns about the party's internal democratic processes and criticized the outcomes of recent primaries as prearranged. His departure from the APC marks a notable change in his political stance, especially given his earlier praise for Tinubu's economic reforms and dismissal of opposition coalitions.
