Timi Frank Urges US to Halt Intelligence Sharing with Nigeria

Timi Frank, the former deputy national secretary of the APC, has called on the United States government to suspend its intelligence sharing and security cooperation with Nigeria. This appeal follows comments made by Islamic cleric Ahmad Gumi, who suggested that Nigerian authorities should know the identities and locations of bandits.

Frank's statement, made on Tuesday, emphasizes the need for transparency regarding the government's knowledge of bandit operations, especially in light of ongoing kidnappings and killings across the country. He criticized the Nigerian government for not taking decisive action against these threats, raising serious concerns about national security.

Frank urged the US to exercise caution in its dealings with the current Nigerian administration under President Bola Tinubu, particularly regarding intelligence sharing. He highlighted the significant risks faced by Nigerian soldiers in ongoing security operations and called for the US Congress to pay closer attention to developments in Nigeria, especially concerning security and democratic governance.
