Benue Education Commissioner Advocates Funding for Children with Special Needs

Professor Elizabeth Ugoh, a former Benue Education Commissioner, urged for increased funding to support children with special needs in Benue State. She highlighted the necessity of expanding therapeutic centers at Benue State University Teaching Hospital in Makurdi.

Professor Ugoh emphasized the need for a larger center with digital libraries, educational games, and playgrounds. She called for the establishment of special schools, hostels, and the recruitment of qualified staff.

Governor Hyacinth Alia was commended for his attention to funding hospital services. Professor King David Terna Yaw discussed the potential of medical tourism at BSUTH.
