Huny Defies Ogun APC Consensus, Purchases Gov'ship Form

Huny, a former commissioner in Ogun State, has reportedly acquired a governorship nomination form for 50 million naira, challenging the consensus candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Solomon Adeola, who was unanimously adopted during a strategic caucus meeting held at the party secretariat in Abeokuta. The meeting, attended by notable APC leaders including Governor Dapo Abiodun and three former governors—Olusegun Osoba, Ibikunle Amosun, and Gbenga Daniel—resulted in the endorsement of Adeola as the party's candidate for the upcoming elections.

Huny's decision to purchase the nomination form, which was obtained on his behalf by media aide Kayod Odunaro, has sent shockwaves through the Ogun APC. When questioned about his defiance of the party's consensus, Huny declined to comment further.

His entry into the race is expected to set the stage for a competitive governorship primary.
