Jumoke Akinjide Resigns from PDP, Citing Long Membership

Jumoke Akinjide, who served as the Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has officially resigned from the People's Democratic Party (PDP). She made this announcement on a Monday through a letter addressed to the PDP chairman of her ward in Ona Ara Local Government Area, Oyo State.

Akinjide stated that her decision to resign was not made lightly, considering her long-standing membership in the party since 2001. She comes from a prominent political family; her late father, Richard Akinjide, served as the Minister of Justice during the administration of former President Shehu Shagari in the Second Republic.

Akinjide's resignation is effective immediately, marking a significant shift in her political affiliation.
