Ex-Minister Oloy Jumok Akinjide Resigns from PDP

Oloy Jumok Akinjide, who served as the Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory, has officially resigned from the People's Democratic Party (PDP). She made the announcement on Monday through a letter addressed to the chairman of her party's ward in Ona Ara Local Government Area, Oyo State.

In her letter, Akinjide indicated that her resignation took effect immediately and was not made lightly, given her long-standing membership in the party since 2001. Akinjide is the daughter of the late Chief Richard Akinjide, who was a notable figure, having served as Minister of Justice during the Second Republic under the leadership of late Alhaji Shehu Shagari.

He was also instrumental in introducing a motion that led to Shagari's victory in a Supreme Court case in 1979.
