Okowa Lauds NELFUND, Becomes WPU Patron in Asaba

Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, the former Governor of Delta State and current South-South Coordinator of Renewed Hope Ambassadors, commended the Federal Government for the National Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) initiative, which has enrolled approximately 1.6 million students in tertiary institutions across Nigeria. He made these remarks while hosting the national leadership of the Working People United (WPU) at his residence in Asaba.

Okowa described NELFUND as part of President Bola Tinubu's critical reforms aimed at revamping Nigeria's economy. He acknowledged previous skepticism about the loan fund but noted a significant change in perception as many students began to benefit from it.

Okowa urged Nigerians to support Tinubu's second term bid, citing reforms addressing socio-economic issues, including State Police and the removal of oil subsidies. Comrade Williams Akporeha, the National Coordinator of WPU, informed Okowa about the group's objectives and expressed support for his senatorial ambition and Tinubu's presidency.

The visit culminated in Okowa being conferred the patronship of WPU.
