Chidi Nwogu Inaugurates Tennis Pavilion in Nkwerre

Hon. Chidi Nwogu, a former member of the Federal House of Representatives, has significantly contributed to sports development in Nkwerre, Imo State, by constructing a tennis pavilion at the Nkwerre Country Club. This project is dedicated to the memory of his late mother, Chief Mr. Fanni Nwogu, who was a tennis enthusiast and often played doubles with him throughout her life.

The pavilion was inaugurated on April 8, 2026, and is expected to support the tennis section of the club, which previously lacked a grandstand for spectators. Engr. Mike Ezeh, the club's president, praised Nwogu's contributions, highlighting the positive impact on the community's recreational activities.

The event was attended by notable figures, including Gov. Hope Uzodimma, various senators, and other dignitaries, who acknowledged the importance of the pavilion in promoting sports and community engagement.
