Nnaji and UNN Engage in Settlement Talks Over Forgery

Former Minister of Science, Innovation, and Technology, Nnaji, is involved in out-of-court settlement discussions with the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) concerning allegations of certificate forgery. The Federal High Court in Abuja, presided over by Justice Hauwa Yilwa, has temporarily halted further proceedings in the case, which was scheduled for a hearing on a pending application filed by Nnaji in October 2025.

The allegations arose during the ministerial screening of President Bola Tinubu, leading to Nnaji's resignation to avoid distracting the administration. The case has faced procedural challenges, including multiple preliminary objections raised by the defense.

During a recent court session, Nnaji's counsel, Muritala, informed the court of the parties' intention to pursue an amicable resolution, prompting a request for adjournment to allow negotiations to continue. The court has adjourned the matter until July 8, 2026, while discussions for a settlement are ongoing.
