Ombugadu Leaves PDP for APC, Cites Governance Issues

David Ombugadu, a two-time governorship candidate for the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Nasarawa State, has officially announced his decision to leave the PDP and join the All Progressives Congress (APC). This transition was made public on Tuesday.

Ombugadu expressed dissatisfaction with the PDP's leadership and criticized the party's approach to governance over the past eight years, particularly under the administration of Governor Abdullahi Sule. He emphasized that his role in the opposition allowed him to closely scrutinize the governor's policies and performance, which influenced his decision to return to the APC.

Ombugadu previously ran for governorship against Sule in the 2019 and 2023 elections on the PDP platform but was unsuccessful in his legal challenges regarding the election results. His shift to the APC marks a significant political move as he seeks to align with a party he believes can better address the needs of the state.
