Former NFA Chairman Ibrahim Galadima Dies at 78

Ibrahim Galadima, a prominent figure in Nigerian football administration and former chairman of the Nigerian Football Association (NFA) from 2002 to 2006, has died at the age of 78. His death occurred on a Saturday evening in a hospital in Kano, as confirmed by his younger brother, Alhaji Abba Galadima.

A funeral prayer is set to take place on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Fagg Juma Mosque in Fagg Quarter, Kano metropolis. Galadima was recognized for his significant contributions to the development of Nigerian football during his tenure and served as a vital leader in advancing the sport at both grassroots and elite levels.

He was also a founding father of Kano Pillars FC, which has become a dominant force in Nigerian football. The club's management, including General Manager Ahm Musa and Chairman Alhaji Ali Muhammad Umar, expressed their heartfelt condolences to Galadima's family and the entire Nigerian football community.
