Former NFA Chairman Ibrahim Galadima Passes Away at 75

Ibrahim Galadima, the former chairman of the Nigeria Football Association (NFA), died at the age of 75 on Saturday due to a prolonged illness. His death was confirmed by Sani Ahm Toro, the former secretary general of the NFA.

Born in 1951 in Kano, Galadima was a prominent figure in Nigerian sports administration, playing a crucial role in restructuring the NFA and serving as chairman of the Kano State Sport Council from 1981 to 1983. He was also an elected vice president of the Nigeria Olympic Committee from 1985 to 1987 and was reappointed as chairman of the Kano State Sport Council.

Galadima was instrumental in the development of sports facilities for the 1995 FIFA World Youth Championship, which was initially scheduled to be hosted in Nigeria but was later relocated due to health-related challenges. He was a member of the organizing committee for the CAF Youth Championship in 2002 and was elected chairman of the NFA, further solidifying his legacy in Nigerian sports.
