SWAN Condoles Over Passing of Ex-NFF President Ibrahim Galadima

The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has extended its condolences to the family of Ibrahim Galadima and the broader sports fraternity following his passing. Galadima, who served as the President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), was also the Chairman of the Nigeria Football Association (NFA) from 2002 to 2006.

His tenure was marked by significant contributions to the development of Nigerian football. SWAN President Mr.

Isaiah Benjamin, in a statement from the association's Secretary General Amb Ikenna Okonkwo, expressed sadness over the loss of a man known for his benevolence and dedication to sports administration. Galadima's impact on Nigerian football and his community leadership in Kano were highlighted.

His burial is scheduled for Sunday, April 19, 2026, in accordance with Islamic rites, with funeral prayers set to take place at Fagg Juma Mosque in Kano State at 10 AM.
