Former Ondo Commissioner Erastu Akeju Dies at 88

Erastu Akeju, a distinguished statesman and former commissioner in Ondo State, passed away at the age of 88. His death was announced in a statement issued on Saturday.

Akeju was recognized for his unwavering commitment to public service and made significant contributions to the development of Ondo State, particularly during his tenure as chairman of the Akoko North West Local Government. Senator Olajid Ipinsagba, representing the Ondo North Senatorial District, described Akeju as a leader of exceptional character and a humble patriot whose legacy will continue to inspire future generations.

Chief Demola Ijabiyi, a member of the APC Elder Forum, expressed profound sadness over Akeju's passing, calling it a monumental loss for the APC and the political community in Ondo State. Akeju's life was dedicated to grassroots development, and he served as chairman of the local government and later as chairman of the APC Elder Forum, mobilizing support for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu.
