Bukar Elected ADC Chair in Borno, Pledges Change

Bukar, a former chairman of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), has emerged as the new chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Borno State. His election took place during a state congress held on Saturday in Maiduguri, where he was sworn in alongside 41 other members.

In a statement to newsmen shortly after his swearing-in, Bukar committed to reinvigorating the party and working diligently to regain power in the state. He expressed optimism that the ADC would overcome its challenges and bring about the desired change for the people of Borno State.

Bukar, who previously had a brief stint with the All Progressives Congress (APC), emphasized the need for the ADC to address the rising insecurity in the state, which he attributed to the failures of both the central and sub-national governments. The congress was supervised by Alhaji Musa Halilu, who ensured that the process adhered strictly to the party's constitution and electoral act.
