Dr. Ali Tikau Defects to ADC from PDP in Yobe State

Dr. Ali Tikau, a former governorship aspirant for the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Yobe State, officially defected to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) on Monday.

The announcement took place during a ceremony in his hometown, Nanger Local Government Area, which attracted a large number of supporters and political associates. Tikau symbolically surrendered his PDP membership card, which was received by the PDP ward chairman, Samaila Jalamawa, alongside the ward secretary.

The event was officiated by Babangida Dagar, representing the state chairman of ADC, and included youth leader Ali Garba and organizing secretary Salisu Ibrahim. Tikau, who previously served as the executive secretary of the National Primary Education Commission and contested for the governorship seat in Yobe State in 2011 and 2023, stated that his decision to leave the PDP followed extensive consultations with political allies.

He aims to explore new political opportunities to promote development in the community and pledged to strengthen the ADC while mobilizing support for future elections.
