Fryo Endorses Adeleke for Osun Governorship Election

Adebayo Adedamola, known as Fryo, a former governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State, endorsed Governor Ademola Adeleke ahead of the August 15, 2026 governorship election. Adedamola announced his decision during a press conference in Osogbo on Wednesday.

He had previously emerged as the PDP governorship candidate for the 2026 election on December 2, 2025, securing 919 votes out of 957 at the party's primary. However, his name was omitted from the final candidate list published by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Adedamola cited extensive consultations and an assessment of the political landscape as the basis for his support of Adeleke, who is running for re-election under the Accord Party. He called on PDP members and supporters to back Adeleke, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing the state's interests over personal ambitions.

Adedamola also urged for a peaceful election, condemning violence and hate speech.
