Peter Ameh Resigns from Labour Party Citing National Interest

Peter Ameh, who was a presidential candidate during the 2019 general elections, has officially resigned from the Labour Party (LP). His resignation was communicated through a letter directed to the chairman of the Labour Party in Ogugu Ward 1, Olamaboro Local Government Area, Kogi State.

In the letter, Ameh expressed that his decision was made in the overriding interest of the nation's progress and the stability of democracy. He paid tribute to the late Alhaji Abdulkadir Abdulsalam, a former national chairman of the Labour Party and the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), reflecting on the difficult nature of his decision.

Ameh expressed gratitude to the members of the Labour Party for their support during his time with the party and emphasized his commitment to continue working towards a better and prosperous Nigeria, despite stepping away from the Labour Party.
