Peter Obi Exits Political Parties Over Internal Crises

Peter Obi, the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party and ex-governor of Anambra State, stated that he left political parties due to persistent internal crises and litigation. Speaking during a visit to the permanent site of a university in Nigeria, he donated 25 million naira and explained that he departed the Labour Party because of unresolved conflicts and endless litigation.

Obi has since moved to the African Democratic Congress, advocating for the establishment of a credible opposition in Nigeria. He described the current political environment as unstable and emphasized the importance of democratic ideals and stronger internal democracy within party structures.

Obi also urged Nigerians to take responsibility for protecting their votes and criticized the remuneration structure of political office holders, highlighting the disparity in earnings compared to academic professionals. He underscored the necessity of education for the nation's development and the future of its youth.
