South East Governors Back Tinubu for 2027 Re-Election

A group of former governors from the South East geopolitical zone of Nigeria has declared total support for President Bola Tinubu's re-election in 2027. This announcement was made during a high-stakes meeting held on Tuesday in Enugu, where they formed the South East Forum.

The forum's primary objective is to provide a non-partisan advisory platform for addressing national issues relevant to the region. David Umahi, the former governor of Ebonyi State, convened the meeting and read a communiqué detailing the group's position.

The former governors resolved to support Tinubu's presidency due to his strategic appointments and infrastructure development initiatives benefiting the South East. They acknowledged the significant financial assistance provided by Tinubu to state governors across the country, which has aided the South East region.

The forum plans to ensure synergy among former and current governors to promote the region's progress. The next meeting is expected to include prominent figures such as Orji Uzor Kalu and Chimaroke Nnamani.
