Jessica Andrade Works as Delivery Driver During Recovery

Jessica Andrade, a 34-year-old former UFC strawweight champion, has been working as a delivery driver to earn extra income while recovering from a shoulder injury sustained during her last fight against Loopy Godinez in August 2022. Andrade has participated in 30 UFC fights since her debut in 2013, winning 17.

In a Brazilian MMA podcast, she explained her delivery work, stating, “I do whatever it takes. I’m not afraid of hard work.” Additionally, she has begun a landscaping project at a friend's house, which includes removing rocks, laying grass, and painting fences.

Andrade previously faced financial difficulties, having sold her UFC gear in 2018 due to a lack of sponsorships. In 2023, she fought five times to cover divorce expenses and accused her former coach Gilliard Parana of withholding money, which he denied.

The UFC's fighter pay structure has come under scrutiny, especially in light of comparisons to boxing revenue distribution.
