Experts Advocate Innovation for Nigeria's Energy Transition

During a discussion at the Energy Leadership Fellowship, Mustapha Abdullahi, Director General of the Energy Commission of Nigeria, urged stakeholders to embrace innovation to accelerate Nigeria's energy transition. He emphasized the need for disciplined hard work and continuous self-improvement to achieve success.

Abdullahi highlighted the growing role of artificial intelligence in shaping the future of the energy industry, advocating for advancements in grid architecture and energy storage systems. John Kadiri, Executive Secretary of the Association of Local Distributors, encouraged the promotion of innovation within the sustainable energy sector.

Suleiman Khalil Halilu, Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure, called for stronger alignment between technology policies and energy investments to advance clean energy manufacturing in Nigeria. The fellowship featured discussions on state-level energy governance and resource management, with insights shared by representatives from Enugu, Lagos, and Ondo states.
