REAN Calls for Action on Nigeria's Clean Energy Transition

The Renewable Energy Association of Nigeria (REAN) has called on stakeholders in Nigeria's energy sector to move beyond policy discussions and take concrete actions to facilitate the country's transition to clean energy. This call was made following the Solar & Storage Live Nigeria 2026 conference held in Lagos.

Oisereime Lloyd-Dietake, REAN’s Head of Communications, noted that the conference gathered senior government officials, regulators, investors, and renewable energy companies to explore pathways for expanding renewable energy deployment. REAN President Ayo Ademilua described the sector as being at a "defining moment," highlighting the critical role of solar energy and battery storage.

He advocated for collaboration among various sectors to unlock opportunities. REAN CEO Motunrayo Akinfala emphasized the need to shift focus from policy development to implementation, urging for investment mobilization and quality standards enforcement.

The conference concluded with a commitment to enhance collaboration and create a favorable business environment for renewable energy deployment in Nigeria.
