Explosion on Kiama-Woro Road Kills Driver, Injures Mother

On Wednesday morning, at approximately 6:50 AM, an explosion occurred along Kiama-Woro road in Kwara State, leading to the death of the driver, Zubaru Inuwa. A nursing mother, identified as Nafisat Moham, sustained injuries from the blast and was subsequently taken to Ilorin for medical treatment.

A male child in the vehicle escaped unharmed. The explosion was confirmed by the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) officers to be caused by a suspected landmine planted along the road.

The Kwara State Police Command has urged the public, particularly in the Woro and Nuku locations, to remain alert and vigilant as the situation continues to be closely monitored.
