Explosive Materials Cause Fire in Lagos Industrial Estate, Quickly Controlled by Fire Service

The Lagos State Fire Rescue Service reported that a fire outbreak in the Amuwo Odofin Industrial Estate in Lagos was triggered by explosive materials stored inside a warehouse. The incident occurred on a Saturday night, with a large quantity of explosive substances kept in drums affecting the warehouse.

Margaret Adesey, the agency's General Manager, led the firefighting efforts, which lasted several hours before the blaze was contained. Fire crews from various stations were deployed promptly to combat the fire and prevent its spread to adjacent industrial facilities.

No casualties were recorded, and investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of the fire. The agency emphasized the importance of adhering to fire safety regulations, especially when handling hazardous materials, to prevent such disasters in the future.
