Explosion at Lagos Industrial Estate Caused by Explosive Materials Triggers Fire

The Lagos State Fire Rescue Service confirmed that an explosion occurred at the Amuwo Odofin Industrial Estate in Mile 2, Lagos on a Saturday evening. The incident was triggered by explosive materials stored in a warehouse, resulting in a fire that ravaged part of the estate.

Margaret Adesey, a spokesperson for the agency, stated that they received a distress call at 9:29 p.m. and arrived at the scene within 11 minutes. Firefighting teams from various stations were deployed to tackle the blaze, which was contained by 5:55 a.m. on Sunday.

Fortunately, there were no casualties reported, and investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the fire. The agency's boss commended the swift response of the firefighting team and emphasized the importance of adhering to fire safety regulations to prevent future incidents.
