Ezekwesili Defends Adeboye on Nigeria's Insecurity Issues

Oby Ezekwesili, a former minister, defended Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, against accusations of silence regarding Nigeria's challenges. Ezekwesili stated that Adeboye has consistently addressed issues such as insecurity and the need for restructuring over the years.

She shared her remarks on social media, highlighting that Adeboye has spoken publicly on national issues across different administrations, regardless of who occupied the presidency. Ezekwesili referenced Adeboye's comments made during a Holy Ghost service in November 2025, where he urged President Bola Tinubu's administration to take decisive action against insecurity.

She noted that Adeboye had previously criticized Nigeria's governance structure during an event organized by the Redeemed Christian Church of God and the Nehemiah Leadership Institute on Nigeria's 60th independence anniversary in October 2020. Ezekwesili concluded by calling on citizens to unite and confront the country's challenges, emphasizing the importance of demanding meaningful reform.
