FAAN and Air Force Boost Airport Security Collaboration

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), led by Managing Director Olubunmi Kuku, is strengthening its collaboration with the Nigerian Air Force to enhance security at airports across Nigeria. This initiative was discussed during a courtesy visit from Air Vice Marshal Japhet Ekwurib, the Commander of the National Air Defence Corps.

Kuku highlighted the evolving nature of security challenges within airport environments and stressed the importance of strong partnerships and intelligence sharing to coordinate operational strategies. FAAN is committed to working closely with the Nigerian Air Force in areas such as airside patrols and improving communication around flight operations.

Kuku also raised concerns about land encroachment affecting aviation infrastructure, calling for collective vigilance and early intervention. The collaboration aims to maintain safety and operational efficiency at airports.

Ekwurib expressed appreciation for FAAN's proactive approach to aviation safety and reaffirmed the commitment to developing frameworks that support a secure aviation environment.
