FAAN MD Calls for Enhanced Airport Security Collaboration

Mr. Olubunmi Kuku, the Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), emphasized the need for improved airport security and collaboration with the Nigerian Air Force during a courtesy visit from Air Vice Marshal Japhet Ekwurib, the Commander of the National Air Defence Corps.

Kuku highlighted the evolving nature of security challenges within airport environments and the necessity for strong partnerships to share intelligence and coordinate operational strategies. She reaffirmed FAAN's commitment to working closely with the Nigerian Air Force, particularly in areas such as airside patrols and enhancing communication around flight operations.

Kuku also raised concerns about land encroachment affecting critical aviation infrastructure and called for collective vigilance and early intervention. The collaboration among aviation stakeholders was noted as crucial for maintaining safety and operational efficiency.

Air Vice Marshal Ekwurib expressed appreciation for FAAN's proactive approach to aviation safety and viewed the visit as an opportunity to strengthen institutional cooperation and address shared security priorities.
