FAAN Enhances Airport Security and Judicial Processes

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) is committed to strengthening security enforcement and judicial processes within the nation's airports. A high-level engagement on Thursday focused on arrest and prosecution strategies within the aviation sector, bringing together legal professionals, security agencies, and prosecutors.

Olubunmi Kuku, Managing Director of FAAN, and Afegbai Igbaf, Director of Aviation Security Services, stressed the importance of law enforcement and inter-agency collaboration to safeguard airport infrastructure and maintain public confidence in Nigeria's aviation system. They noted that offenses committed within airport facilities would not be treated lightly due to their potential impact on passenger confidence and national security.

Bridget Gold, Director of Legal Services, described the engagement as crucial for addressing legal operational issues affecting airport administration. The forum aimed to deepen stakeholder understanding of the judicial administration process and clarify the roles of security agencies, prosecutors, and legal practitioners in maintaining law and order within Nigeria's airports.
