FAAN Warns Against Unauthorized Passenger Video Recording

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has warned passengers against recording videos of other travelers without their consent at Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA). This warning comes after incidents where passengers were filmed in restricted security areas, prompting concerns about privacy and security.

FAAN clarified that signage clearly indicates that filming is not permitted in these areas. The authority acknowledged the complaints raised on social media, particularly involving a user named Patrick Chupatr, who documented his travel experience using a GoPro.

FAAN stated that airport officials will advise passengers to stop filming, especially when it involves others without their consent. They emphasized that while selfies are allowed, intervention will occur if recordings involve other passengers.

FAAN reassured travelers that they can continue their journeys as long as they adhere to the guidelines, which are in place to protect privacy and ensure smooth airport operations.
